Your bio is a landing page. Every word needs to earn its spot.

Most artist bios are either too long, too vague, or too focused on the artist instead of the visitor. Someone lands on your profile with one question: is this for me? Your bio has three seconds to answer it and tell them what to do next. If it doesn't, they leave.

Your bio is a landing page, not a biography. Every word either earns its place or loses the visitor. Most artist bios fail the 3-second test before anyone hears a note.

The Four Line Formula

This works for any artist at any level.

Line 1: Who you are

Your identity in one clear sentence. Not your genre list. Not your hometown. Your identity.

Bad: "Indie artist | Music lover | Creating from the heart"

Better: "I make music for late nights and long drives."

Better: "Helping independent artists build careers that actually pay."

Line 2: Who it is for

Make your ideal listener or follower see themselves in your bio.

Bad: "Music for everyone"

Better: "For the bedroom producer who hasn't posted yet."

Better: "If you feel stuck between your day job and your dream, this is for you."

Line 3: A credibility signal

One number, one result, one fact that earns trust quickly. Keep it specific.

"10 years producing. Toured 15 countries."

"50K monthly listeners and counting."
